C1 Contract Renewals

C1 (hourly) Contract renewals will now be initiated and managed by the local office. Below is a how-to guide with instructions to assist with contract renewals. If you have any questions regarding this process or need assistance, please contact Stephanie Jackson at sjacks@umd.edu.

 Instructions

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Supervisor/Administrative Support will be notified of the C1 employee’s upcoming contract expiration via Workday notifications. If they are not being renewed, send an email to Stephanie Jackson so the termination process can be initiated.

  2. If renewing, the Supervisor will work with the local administrative staff to update the C1 Contract template with the following information:

    1. Updated renewal dates (maximum of 6 months)

    2. Updated funding source, if there is a change in funding

    3. Position Description, if needed

  3. Local Admin Support or Supervisor will initiate the signature process using Adobe Sign.

    2. Signature Workflow should be in this order:

      1. Approver: Stephanie Jackson (sjacks@umd.edu)

      2. Signature: C1 Employee Email

      3. Signature: Department Head, Jinhee Kim (jinkim@umd.edu)

      4. CC: Supervisor’s email

  4. Adobe Sign will automatically send an email to everyone in the workflow once complete, so no further action is required.

  5. The business manager (Stephanie Jackson) will process the renewal in Workday.

Please note: Title and hourly rate must remain the same. If a change in title or rate of pay is needed, contact Stephanie Jackson.
