Sometimes the URLs of pages on AGNR’s sites can be long and cumbersome. If you want to share a link that’s short and easy to remember, you can use the go.umd.edu link shortener.
How to create a Go link
Copy the URL of the page you want people to visit.
Go to https://go.umd.edu and log in using your Directory ID.
Once you are logged in, click the turtle shell logo or “home” link to be taken to the link shortening screen.
In the field “Enter a long URL to make short,” paste the URL to the webpage you previously copied.
Optionally, in the field following “https://go.umd.edu/,” enter any shortlink of your choice. If you leave it blank, go.umd.edu will create one for you.
Click “Shrink it!”
Your new shortlink will be listed in the table at the bottom of the screen. Copy the short URL and share it anywhere! When someone enters your shortlink into a browser, they will be taken to the destination page. Shortlinks are especially useful for printed materials and Twitter.
